Grammy-nominated Producer/Guitarist Tim Volpicella has performed and recorded with such renowned artists as Vijay Iyer, Russell Ferrante, Hafez Modirzadeh, Thomas Morgan, Chuck Israels, Chet Baker, Larry Schneider, Duke Jethro, Pezhham Akhavass, royal hartigan, Kenneth Nash and Akira Tanna. Nominated for a Grammy for his playing and production work on “Are We There Yet?”, the 2011 release from The PapaHugs Band, Tim infuses originality and sophistication in both his playing and music production.

An accomplished guitarist spanning multiple genres,
Tim Volpicella has shared the stage with luminary artists including Chuck Israels, Duke Jethro, and Russell Ferante. He maintains a steady calendar as a performing artist in the Pacific Northwest as a guitarist, producer, and composer and jazz, creative, and improvised musical styles.

His many notable gigs include a five-year stint with the John Carlton Orchestra at Harrah’s Headliner Room, in Reno, Nevada. Backing up many musical stars. And where Sammy Davis Jr. pulled him aside to say “Man, you play great guitar!”

Music Educator

As an educator, Tim regularly enlightens students across the Pacific Northwest at local schools, colleges, and universities.

He received the Outstanding Achievement Award for teaching Jazz Studies classes at Sierra Nevada College in Lake Tahoe, NV. Taught classes and performed for San Jose Jazz, summer trio guitar classes at Stanford Universty(1999-2007) and the Jazzschool in Berkeley, CA.

Producer and Studio Musician

Tim is an accomplished studio musician and Grammy-nominated producer for artists including the Grammy nominated PapaHugs Band and other seminal artists.
